Purchase large potted floor plants (or grow your own) and place them a few inches apart on top of the benches. Be sure you have enough planters to reach from one end to the other. Place your patio furniture directly in front of the planters (to hide the benches) with the back side toward your property line. This creates a partially open green or floral back drop to your patio section while adding a bit of privacy.

Plant your favorite flowers or greenery and install just beneath your window sills to create a decorative natural accent to your patio that can also be viewed from inside.

      For the avid garden enthusiast, large planter boxes are a popular way to enhance a lawn or patio. These can be built or purchased in whatever size suits your decorating needs, or the plants you intend to raise in them. Some are large enough to accommodate small trees or bushes, and often have a wide enough edges to double as benches. Commonly used to line patios or section off yard areas, large planter boxes are versatile enough to create several yard, garden and patio styles.
