Hang a windsock from a natural material, such as the branch of tree. Most windsocks come pre-made with hooks and string, but you might need to tie a piece of string to the windsock if there isn’t one there already. Tie the string around the branch of the tree to secure the windsock.
Secure the windsock to a hanging hook in the ceiling or to a beam on the ceiling. Screw-in hooks are the easiest option if there are no hooks provided. Screw-in hooks can be used without any other tools. Press the pointy edge into the surface, making a slight hole, and turn the hook repeatedly in the same direction until it is screwed into the surface.
Leave enough room between the base the windsock is secured to and the top of the windsock so it can blow around without hitting too many objects.
Mount a pole in the ground and tie the windsock to the top of the pole.
