Autumn Yard Decorations

Materials

• Some necessary materials for creating interesting, autumn-themed yard decorations include craft wire, leaves, hot glue, pumpkins, gourds and harvest wheat stalks. Cardboard, markers and garden stakes are other optional materials.

Methods

• Wrap wheat stalks with white tree lights to create a sparkly winter display. Carve faces, shapes and messages into pumpkins using a pumpkin-carving knife or any sharp kitchen knife. Create a circle from craft wire and use hot glue to secure autumn leaves to the wire circles.

Harvest Display

• Create a festive space in the yard by laying out a couple of hay bales. On either side of the hay bales, display the harvest wheat stalks. On top of the bales and throughout the display, place decorated pumpkins and gourds. Hang leaf wreaths from trees or the front door.

Halloween

• Halloween is one of the optimum times to decorate the yard with autumn-themed items. Draw ghosts, witches and other items on cardboard. Attach homemade decorations to garden stakes to display in the yard.
