Place the selected ornament mold on a work surface. Coat the inside of the mold with a mold release solvent. The solvent will allow you to easily remove the mold from the ornament once the concrete has dried.
Combine the concrete mix with the proper amount water as directed. Mix it in a bucket with a trowel. The consistency generally should that of thick mud.
Pour the concrete into the mold. As you fill it, tap the mold against a work surface to settle the concrete and remove any air bubbles. Allow the concrete to dry overnight in the mold.
Carefully remove the mold from the decoration. Allow the concrete to fully cure for one to two weeks.
Apply paint to the lawn decoration using a paintbrush and a variety of exterior paint colors. Allow the paint to dry prior to moving the ornament.
