Instructions

    • 1

Lay out an 8-foot-by-4-foot rectangle. Dig two-foot-deep post holes at each corner. Place the posts in each hole. Mix the cement according to the manufacturer's instructions and pour it in the hole. Use the level and plumb bob to make sure the posts are level and even with each other. Let the cement dry for 24 hours.

    • 2

Frame the top part of the swing set frame: Nail two, 2-inch-by-4-inch-by-8-foot boards to the outside top of the posts, along the long side of the rectangle. Cut a 2-inch-by-4-inch-by-8-foot board in half, and nail each section to the outside top of the posts, along the short side of the rectangle.

    • 3

Brace the frame: Cut a 2-inch-by-4-inch-by-8-foot board in half. Nail each of the two sections to the outside part of each post, along the short side of the rectangle, about two-thirds of the distance to the top. Cut two more 2-inch-by-4-inch-by-8-foot boards in half. Nail the four sections over the top of the frame, equally spaced.

Stain or paint the swing set. Let dry for 24 hours. Attach the eye bolts to the 2-inch-by-4-inch-by-4-foot sections you just nailed over the top of the swing sets. Attach the chain and seats.
