Prepare the area by painting the wall. Paint the wall a color that contrasts with both the frames of the mirrors and the colors of the furniture you'll use to outfit the area. For example, some possible color combinations include a Southwest red wall with blue mirror frames, a yellow wall with black frames or a bamboo green wall with tan frames.
Hang a variety of framed mirrors of different shapes and sizes on the wall to create a montage of mirrors. To add visual interest to the montage, incorporate framed outdoor artwork among the mirrors. Outdoor wall art is equivalent to the art you hang indoors; the only difference is that the materials used to create it are outdoor-friendly.
Hang a mirror above an outdoor fireplace. To add a bit of extra decorative flair, decorate the fireplace's mantel with colorful candles that will reflect in the mirror during the night.
Use mirrors to emphasize a wall fountain. Lay mirror-tiled stones around the base of the fountain to reflect the sparkling water.
Play with shapes in your mirror displays. For example, above an outdoor sofa, position five diamond-shaped mirrors so that they form a larger diamond-shaped mirror. To do this, hang all of the smaller mirrors close together so that they appear to be one mirror.
Reflect a little sunlight around your yard with some mirrored wind chimes hung from a hook in the wall. These wind-catching decorative items add a light tinkling sound to your backyard and support your mirror decorating theme.
