Flatten the forks and spoons on an anvil or any other hard flat surface. Hammer out the curves of the spoons and forks by flipping them over and hammering until sufficiently flat.
Clamp the flatware in place using the c-clamp and begin drilling holes in the ends of the silverware using the power drill and drill bits. Firmly hold the drill steady to keep the bit from walking or slipping.
Apply cutting oil to the hole on the silverware to help finish the hole out, then countersink a screw into the hole by screwing a screw into the hole you just drilled. This will clean off any barbs left on the hole's edges. Remove the screws when finished.
Twist the silverware using the vice grips and pliers to add an ornamental touch to the chime. If the silverware is hard to bend, have a friend or family member hold the grips or pliers to help twist the forks.
Prepare the main hanging fork by bending the two outer tangs of the fork outward and curled upwards and the two center tangs in opposite directions from each other also curled upwards. Take care when doing this to not break the fork by using too much force.
Tie the silverware to the hanging fork using the fishing line. Hang a knife, to act as the clapper, in the center of the other silverware by tying it to the main stem of the hanging fork.
