Instructions for a Westinghouse Solar PIR Floodlight

You don't need an electrical connection to provide motion-detecting floodlights to a certain part of your property. Westinghouse's Solar PIR (passive infrared) floodlight is charged by a connection to a small solar panel posted nearby. It can detect movement in a 130-degree range and emits light from six single-watt LED bulbs arranged in two swivel lights. If you're installing a Westinghouse PIR solar floodlight, make sure you're attaching it to a stable foundation. After that, using your new floodlight is as easy as walking away.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a location to mount your floodlight. A wood or concrete foundation is best. Use the supplied mounting kit to screw your light to the foundation. This may require drilling holes to correspond to the size of your mounting screws, then screwing in the mounting plate and attaching your light.

    • 2

Plug your light's solar cord, extending about 1/2 foot from the rear of the unit, into the corresponding cable for the solar pane.

    • 3

Post your solar pane in the location with the best potential for daily sunlight within 10 feet of the floodlight (this is how long the cable is).

    • 4

Screw the mount for the solar pane into its location as far as 10 feet from the floodlight.

    • 5

Allow a few hours for your Westinghouse solar floodlight to charge. After nightfall, test out your new motion-detecting light.
