Do It Yourself Garden Arbor

A garden arbor can surround a garden visitor with greenery and flowers. The willow tree's flexible branches will serve well for construction of this charming and rustic garden arbor. The structure itself is delicate and can be enhanced with the delicate vines and flowers of the morning glory plant. Planting a few sunflower plants near the base of the structure will add further charm and the bright yellow sunflowers will contrast with the blue morning glory flowers.

Place the 6-foot branches in the four holes and pack the dirt around them tightly.

    • 3

Attach the 5-foot branches to the tops of the support branches with the stainless steel wire, bending the willow branches to create an arch.

    • 4

Attach the 2-foot branches between the side supports in a criss-cross fashion with the stainless steel wire.

    • 5

Cover all wire with 7-inch lengths of twine by tying the twine around the wire.

Plant the morning glory and sunflower seeds near the outside edges of the garden arbor side supports.
