Do It Yourself Water Feature

An outdoor water feature is a relatively straightforward way to add beauty and elegance to your garden or outdoor space. If you have never attempted a do-it-yourself project of this nature, try a basic multitiered fountain to start with. Instructions

    • 1

Turn the three bowls upside down and mark their centers with a marker. Drill a hole in each of the three marked spots.

    • 2

Place a fountain kit, which is readily available from home or hardware stores, into the largest of the three bowls. Attach the plastic tubing on top of the fountain kit's pump.

    • 3

Insert the plastic tubing through the holes of the medium and small sized bowls.

    • 4

Position a few rocks and pebbles around the plastic tubing in the largest bowl. Repeat with the other two bowls. Fill each bowl half-full with the rocks. Hide as much of the tubing as possible.

    • 5

Put the medium-sized bowl on top of the largest bowl and connect them with the tubing. Put the smallest bowl on top of the medium-sized bowl and insert the tubing of the medium bowl into the smallest bowl's hole.

    • 6

Pour water into the smallest bowl so that it flows down into the other two bowls.

    • 7

Connect the fountain kit to an electric socket to keep the water flowing.
