To add country flavor to your patio railing, embellish it with grapevines. Purchase 6-foot ropes of bundled grapevines from your local craft store and wire them to the top edge of your railing as you would a garland. To add some ambiance, wire strands of small clear lights to the vines to enjoy after sunset. You can also hot glue some faux sunflowers to the grapevines for color and a further touch of country decor.
Sunflowers are a popular element in country decor. A cheerful country wreath to display on the gate of your patio fencing, or on the side of your tool shed, starts with a grapevine wreath, available at your local craft store. Hot glue three large faux sunflowers to the bottom of your wreath. Hot glue some moss around the sunflowers. Tie a large florist bow of red burlap ribbon to the top of the wreath.
A collection of mosaic pots can bring country colors and patterns to the garden and patio. Break up tiles or old china with a hammer. Glue the pieces to flower pots with liquid nails until the pot is completely covered, arranging your pieces in a pleasing design. Fill the spaces between the mosaic pieces with grout, following the manufacturer's instructions, and wipe the grout off the surface of the tiles with a wet rag. Place the larger pots throughout the flower garden as accents and display the smaller pots on tables as part of your patio decor.
Adding an a decoupaged table to your patio can make a bold country statement. You can choose to decoupage a new or old wooden table. The size can be whatever you prefer. Clean your table with some diluted bleach and water. Paint a base color on the entire table using an exterior paint. Cut pictures from wrapping paper, cards or any source of quality images. Flowers, birds, nests, flowers and garden tools work well in a country theme. Using white glue, adhere these images to the table top until the entire top is covered. Brush a mixture of half white glue and half water to the top of your images to seal them. Spray your entire table with spray lacquer. Your table is now ready to use outdoors.
