How to Install a Huskee 46 Inch Deck

The mower deck on the Huskee lawn mower controls the blade when you are cutting grass. When you use attachments on the mower, such as a spreader or tilling equipment, you do not need the deck to be on the tractor. Other times the deck may need replacing for one reason or another. In many cases, if removing the deck is not something that you do often, you may forget how to put it back on the tractor properly. The Installation procedure is not difficult and you only need a few basic tools to do the job.

Instructions

    • 1

Drive the Huskee mower onto a level service and turn off the key. Move the lever forward so that the deck would be in the lowest possible position and disengage the drive lever.

    • 2

Slide the deck under the riding mower. Connect the brackets to the mower deck using a socket and ratchet to tighten the bolts. Push the idler pulley to the side by inserting the square end of the ratchet into the pulley and pushing it over.

    • 3

Thread the belt around the pulleys on the mower deck, and then loop it around the drive pulley on the riding mower. Let the idler pulley slowly come back out. It will automatically tension the belt properly.

Install the belt guards on the mower deck using a wrench to tighten the bolts. Raise the mower deck into the high position by pulling the lever all the way back. Move the lever back and forth several times to check that the deck operation is smooth.
