Turn off the Snapper SR928 lawnmower. Pop open the front hood over the engine.
Disconnect the black negative terminal wire from the Snapper's battery. This wire attaches to the bolt on the right side of the battery. Remove the wire by twisting the bolt counterclockwise, using an open-end wrench.
Use the deck lift lever on the right of the driver's seat to lower the mower deck to its lowest position.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to take out the screws along the belt guard that lies against the drive belt on the bottom center of the mower deck.
Loosen the nuts on the spring-loaded idler plate, using a socket wrench. The idler plate is the circular-shaped part directly beneath the drive belt and pulley. Lift the drive belt off the pulley once you have loosened the nuts.
Use pliers to pull out the retainer pins located on each side of the mower deck. Pull the mower deck from the right side of the Snapper mower.
Use your socket wrench to remove the nut on the top of the pulley, then slide the pulley off the Snapper mower's deck.
Slide the new pulley into place on the mower deck and tighten its top nut to secure it in place.
Follow your disassembly steps in reverse to complete the job.
