The Cub Cadet 2206 is the predecessor to the current line of 2000 Series tractors. The 2206 came with a twin-cylinder Kohler Command gasoline engine displacing 38.1 cubic inches with a power output of 20 horsepower. All available cutting decks on the 2206 housed three cutting blades, as opposed to the 1000 Series two-blade deck.
The 44-inch cutting deck on the Cub Cadet 2206 came with three blades of equal size. The original Cub Cadet part number for these blades is 759-3939. The blades are 15.94 inches long. The blades are available in low-lift, high-lift or mulching varieties. The low-lift blades work well on mowers used without the bagger attachment, while the high-lift blades create more suction to make use of a bagger more efficiently. Mulching blades are used in mower decks that have the mulching kit installed. Mulching blades chop the clippings more finely, making raking and bagging unnecessary.
The 46-inch cutting deck contains three blades, but they are not of equal size. The two outer blades have an original Cub Cadet part number of 759-3922 and are 16.28 inches long each. The center blade has a part number of 759-3932 and is 14.88 inches long. Replacement blades are available in low-lift, high-lift and mulching varieties.
The largest available deck on the Cub Cadet 2206 was the 48-inch unit. Like the 44-inch deck, it also contains three cutting blades of equal size. The original Cub Cadet part number for each of these blades is 759-3825. The blades are 16.5 inches long each. As with the 44- and 46-inch deck blades, these blades are available in low-lift, high-lift and mulching configurations.
