How to Engage the Parking Brake on a Simplicity Mower

The parking brake on your Simplicity Mower is a safety mechanism that keeps the piece of equipment from accidentally moving when parking on an incline or when the mower is not in use. The parking brake component consists of two pads, one pad on each of the Simplicity Mower’s back wheels, that press down on the wheels’ inner rims and keeps the wheels from moving. Like the parking brake on an automobile, you can engage and disengage the brake while the mower is on or off.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a pair of work gloves to get a better grip on your mower’s controls and buttons, if desired.

    • 2

Sit on your Simplicity Mower’s seat and locate the lever on the right side of the mower next to your right leg containing the “P” icon with a circle around it. The lever moves back and forward only.

    • 3

Move the parking brake lever back to engage it. The Simplicity Mower’s back wheels are now locked in place and the mower will not move.

    • 4

Move the parking brake lever forward to disengage the mechanism. The mower is now free to move manually, by pushing it, or by using the mower’s controls while the piece of equipment is running.
