How to Install a 2009 Yard-Man MTD Mower Deck

Your Yardman 13AO771H055 lawn tractor, also known as the Yard-Man 2009 and MTD 2009 lawn tractor, has the capability of holding an accessory mowing deck. This converts the lawn tractor into a functional mower. Installing the mower deck takes a few minutes and is essentially a one-man job. In fact, you will require only basic tools to complete the task.

Instructions

- 1
  Slide the mower deck under the Yard-Man lawn tractor so the front bracket on the mower deck rests an inch or two forward of the mounting bracket on the bottom of the tractor.

  Remove the belt guard from the PTO pulley mounted under the engine of the lawn tractor with a wrench.

  Slide the drive belt on the mower deck over the PTO pulley that protrudes from the underside of the motor. Reinstall the belt guard with the wrench to hold the belt onto the pulley while you finish mounting the rest of the deck.

  Slide the mower back and lift it until you can place the bracket on the front of the deck onto the bracket mounted on the underside of the lawn tractor.

  Lift the back of the mower deck until the mounting brackets on the deck line up with the mounting brackets on the underside of the lawn tractor.

  Slide the clevis pins through the mounting brackets on the mower deck and underside of the lawn tractor.
- 7
  Press the hairpin cotter pins though the holes on the clevis pins to lock the mower deck in place.
