How to Get My LT2000 Mower in Reverse

Your Craftsman LT2000 has a built-in "Reverse Operation System" that requires more than simply changing a gear lever to allow you to drive in reverse. Unless you absolutely must, you should not mow in reverse. However, for those instances when it is necessary, Craftsman has aided you with its ROS. Once you complete the simple operation the first time, you should not have any problems doing it in the future.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the engine and allow it to idle.

    • 2

Press the clutch/brake pedal all the way to the floorboard and hold it in place.

    • 3

Turn the ignition key counterclockwise to the "ROS" position while the engine remains idling.

    • 4

Look down and behind you for any obstacles that you could run over. Make sure children and animals are at a safe distance.

    • 5

Move the gear selector to the reverse ("R") position.

    • 6

Release the clutch/brake pedal slowly to start moving in reverse.
