Instructions

    • 1

Park your Murray 12.5 HP riding mower on a flat surface. Turn the engine off. Set the parking brake.

    • 2

Slide the hydraulic jack directly in front of the tire being changed. Lift the jack until the tire is no longer touching the ground.

    • 3

Twist the cap on the center of the tire rim counterclockwise to remove it.

    • 4

Insert the tip of the flat-head screwdriver under the retaining ring on the rim. Twist the screwdriver to pry the ring off.

    • 5

Grip the square key behind the rim with the pliers. Twist the key counterclockwise to loosen it.

    • 6

Pull the wheel off the axle. Set the wheel face up on the ground.

    • 7

Kneel on the tire without covering the rim.

    • 8

Insert the tip of the flat-head screwdriver between the rim and the tire. Work the screwdriver around the rim to pry the rim away from the tire. Set the old tire aside.

    • 9

Place the new tire on top of the rim. Press on the edges of the tire with your knees to push it onto the rim.

    • 10

Insert the tip of the screwdriver between the rim and tire. Pull the screwdriver toward the edge of the tire to fully install the tire on the rim. Repeat this step around the rim until the tire is firmly seated.

    • 11

Position the wheel onto the axle. Tighten the square key.

    • 12

Install the retaining ring on the rim. Replace the cap. Twist the cap clockwise to tighten it. Lower the hydraulic jack.
