How to Adjust Farmall Cub Timing Spark

The Farmall Cub is a vintage riding farm tractor manufactured by International Harvester. Although International Harvester went out of business in 1984, many people still own these tractors and parts are still manufactured by other companies. If the Farmall Cub backfires when it is started or if it runs poorly, it may be a sign that the timing plug, or spark plug gap, needs to be adjusted. It takes approximately 20 minutes to remove and reset the spark.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the engine cover and remove the Farmall's negative battery cable with the wrench.

    • 2

Find the Farmall's spark plugs on the right hand side of the engine block. The first plug is the timing spark plug.

Replace the Farmall's negative battery cable and then close the engine compartment.
