Insert the key in the ignition.
Check that the electric power take-off (PTO) switch is off.

Turn the throttle to the highest position.
Turn the key clockwise to start the mower, then release the key.
Shut down the mower by disengaging the PTO and set the throttle to low. Let the machine idle for 10 seconds, then turn the key to the "Off" position and remove the key when the engine stops.
Select the "F" or Forward position on the shift lever and press the forward pedal down with your foot to make the mower move forward.
Change speed by adjusting the throttle. The higher the lever, the faster the machine.
Adjust the cutting length by moving the handle on the right-hand fender to the grass length you desire.
Engage the cutting blade by pulling out the electric PTO switch on the dash; some models may have a lever.
Shut the cutting blades off, by pushing the PTO switch down, before reversing the mower.
Engage cruise control by holding your foot on the forward pedal and lifting the cruise control lever, on the right side of the dash. Then release your foot from the forward pedal.
Disengage the cruise control by lightly pushing and then releasing the forward pedal with your foot. In case of an emergency, push the cruise control lever downward.
Use the brake when you want to stop the mower.
Stop the mower before changing from forward motion to reverse or vice versa.
Disengage mowing, then set the shift lever to "R," or Reverse, to back up.
Turn headlights on by moving the key one notch counterclockwise into the "On" or "Lights" position.
