Power off the Snapper mower and open its front engine hood.
Locate the oil dipstick on the bottom of the side of the Briggs & Stratton engine. There is a oil plug here that you must unscrew.
Allow the oil to drain from this opening into an oil pan or similar device, otherwise you will make a mess.
Look at the rear of the engine assembly. A distinctively circular part is located here. This is the flywheel. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts on the flywheel's cover, then slide off the cover.
Place a flywheel holder over the Snapper lawn mower's flywheel and use the socket wrench to take out the center nut on the flywheel.
Lower the two arms on the sides of the flywheel holder down onto the flywheel to lock it into place. Tighten the bolt with your wrench until the flywheel comes loose.
Remove the bolts from the oil pan located on the bottom of the Snapper's Briggs & Stratton engine. This will allow access to the clutch's shaft.
Take out the two bolts on the Snapper's clutch shaft using your wrench.
Hit the top center of the Briggs & Stratton engine with a rubber mallet. You should strike at the point where the flywheel's center bolt was removed. This will dislodge the clutch shaft. Slide it out.
