How to Install a Murray Engine Stop Cable

The stop cable on the Murray lawn mower is a cable that runs from the power lever switch mounted on the mower's handle to the control arm on the side of the mower's carburetor. Over time, the cable can snap or the lever switch casing can crack, either of which will render the part useless. Replacement cables and power lever switches are available at most lawn mower shops or at the lawn section of larger home improvement stores.
