How to Rebuild the Carburetor of a Nikki Mower

The Nikki mower features a Briggs & Stratton engine assembly that is comprised of a carburetor, which may occasionally require troubleshooting. Sometimes such troubleshooting reveals a problem that can only be resolved by breaking down the carburetor and cleaning its parts prior to reassembly. It is possible to rebuild a Nikki mower's carburetor in this fashion without the use of special tools and without previous carburetor rebuilding experience.

Instructions

    • 1

Power off the Nikki mower and ensure the engine block has time to cool.

    • 2

Find the mower's muffler on the lower left area of the engine assembly. Take out its two bolts using a socket wrench.

    • 3

Pull the oil dipstick away from the engine and set it aside. Remove the Nikki mower's gas tank by loosening and removing its bolts. Slide the gas tank off, taking care to keep it oriented sideways so as to ensure no gas leaks out.

    • 4

Find the Nikki mower's carburetor halfway down the right side of the mower. It will primarily be recognizable due to its bowl shape.

    • 5

Remove the screws on the carburetor intake, which is located on the rear of the carburetor.

    • 6

Find the air filter on the rear of the carburetor intake. Remove it by twisting the filter and pulling it off.

    • 7

Disconnect the intake from the rest of the carburetor bowl by removing its two bolts with the socket wrench.

    • 8

Position a pan under the Nikki mower's carburetor bowl, then loosen the nut on the bottom of the bowl. Allow excess gas to leak out into the pan, then remove the nut altogether.

    • 9

Pull the carburetor bowl off completely now that its nut is removed. Soak the nut within a dish of carburetor cleaning solution as you clean out the Nikki mower's carburetor bowl using a cloth and the cleaning solution.

    • 10

Reset the carburetor bowl onto the Nikki mower by securing it into place with the previously removed nut. Tighten the nut into the bottom of the bowl with the socket wrench.

    • 11

Tighten the two previously removed bolts back into the carburetor intake so that the intake fits into the rear of the rest of the Briggs & Stratton carburetor once more.

    • 12

Secure the air filter to the back of the intake by twisting it back on.

    • 13

Reinsert the two removed screws from the Nikki mower's carburetor intake.

    • 14

Slide the Nikki mower's gas tank back into place and reinsert the bolts. Reset the dipstick.

    • 15

Reinsert the last two bolts into the Nikki mower's muffler, which will need to be reconnected to the lower left of the Briggs & Stratton engine.
