Kohler engines use a spark plug. The spark plug ignites the engine when the key is turned on. Kohler makes many different engines for many products, so all spark plugs used on Kohler engines are not the same; the size and shape of the spark plugs differ. Putting the wrong spark plug in may damage the engine. To combat this, every spark plug has a label stamped on it displaying a specific number to help identify what plug you need for this specific engine.
