Hold a large piece of cardboard against the outside edge of the snowplow blade and trace its dimensions and curve onto the cardboard. Move the cardboard 3 inches and trace another set of concentric lines, defining a two-dimensional outline on the cardboard. Cut the cardboard jig with scissors.
Trace the jig of the side edge of the snowplow blade onto a piece of 1/2-inch steel plate. Use the torch to cut four pieces of 1/2-inch steel plate in the same dimensions as the jig. Save the cardboard jig.
Measure and cut six 2-inch by 18-inch strips of 1/2-inch steel plate for the wing support braces. Cut four more 2-inch strips that are 22 inches long.
Measure and cut two 1/2-inch steel plates 19 inches wide and as long as the snowplow blade is high. This last dimension is the length of the outside curved edge of the cardboard jig.
Hold the first 19-inch steel plate over a sawhorse with heavy pliers and use the torch to heat a band across the width of the piece 4 inches wide. When it's hot, use a hand sledge to pound the upper edge of the plate and bend it slightly. Use the cardboard jig as a guide to curve the plate. Move down another 4 inches on the plate and repeat the procedure. Do this until the plate is curved to match the concave curve of the snowplow blade. Repeat this bend on the other 19-inch steel plate.
Connect two of the narrow, curved pieces of steel by welding one of the 18-inch strips between them. The welds should be 3 inches down from the top. The 18-inch strips should be at right angles to the surface of the curved pieces. Held at eye level, all three pieces will be on edge. Weld the other two braces at the midpoint and 3 inches from the bottom respectively. Weld two 22-inch pieces, with parallel surfaces, touching the lateral welds and at a 45-degree angle and with alternating direction down the assembly. (The first piece will be upper left to lower right; the second upper right to lower left.) Repeat this six-step attachment process on the other pair of wing support braces.
Weld one of the curved extension plates to a wing support assembly. Weld the other curved extension plate to the other wing support assembly.
Weld both wings to the side edges of the snowplow blade.
