How to Look for a Snow Blower to Fit a Cub Cadet SLT 1550 Tractor

One of the many questions that customers ask when buying lawn tractors is whether or not a certain tractor can accommodate attachments. One of the most popular attachments for lawn tractors is a snow thrower, which can blow snow off driveways and sidewalks, saving time and the user's back in the process. The Cub Cadet SLT 1550 is a tractor to which a snow thrower can be attached, but it must be matched up with the correct peripheral, as many different snow throwers have different-size brackets that may or may not match up with your SLT 1550.

Instructions

    • 1

Park the SLT 1550 onto a flat surface. Activate the parking brake by pressing the parking-brake button, which is located under the steering wheel.

    • 2

Measure the distance between the square holes on the bracket that holds the bumper in place; this bracket is used to connect the snow thrower. There are four holes on the sides of the bracket and five in the front.

    • 3

Measure the brackets on the snow thrower to see if they match up. Many snow throwers have multiple bracket holes, so measure all of the different options. After you find the holes that match up, use these to connect the snow thrower to the SLT 1550.
