Instructions

    • 1

Check the fuel tank and ensure the Yardman 160cc lawnmower has enough gasoline. If there is old gas from months ago in the tank, add a minimum amount of new gas to the tank -- just enough to crank and start the machine. Do not attempt to operate the tractor normally at this point. Allow the mower to sit and burn off all the old fuel before filling the tank back up and continuing with normal operation.

    • 2

Ensure the spark plug is properly in place. The spark plug is on the side of the Honda engine assembly and will require that the thin plug wire here is securely connected to the back of the plug. If the plug wire is secure within the spark plug, you may need to replace the plug altogether.

    • 3

Disconnect the Yardman 160cc lawnmower's spark plug wire from the spark plug and reinsert it into a replacement plug.

    • 4

Find the Yardman's carburetor bowl on the left side of the Honda engine assembly. The bowl's shape is distinctive and allows for instant identification. Place a pan under the carburetor bowl.

    • 5

Remove the nut on the bottom of the Yardman's carburetor bowl by twisting if off with a socket wrench. Allow the excess liquid to drain from the bowl into the pan.

    • 6

Use your hands to twist off the loosened Yardman carburetor bowl. Wipe out the inside of the bowl with a cloth and some carburetor cleaning mixture. Ensure the inside of the bowl is free of any build up and liquid.

    • 7

Twist the carburetor bowl back into place and reinsert the nut into the bottom of the bowl.
