My Snapper Lawn Mower Starts But Will Not Move

Initial Check

Unadjusted Linkages

Check the linkages for damages or breaks, and replace if necessary. Sometimes the linkages are fine but the nuts that secure them in place loosen with use, causing them to shift out of adjustment. Reattach the linkages so the wheels continue to work.

Other Reasons

• Worn out, misused or aged front wheels keep the mower from moving, causing it to sit motionless and spin its wheels in place. Although the wheels move, they lack the power to propel or move forward and carry the weight of the mower with them. Replace worn out wheels of the mower with those made specifically for it. Another problem keeping the lawn mower from moving forward could be an open bypass valve. Although leaving it open allows you to push it manually even when the engine is off, it is imperative the valve remain closed.
