Caterpillar is the name of a manufacturing company that specializes in making heavy-duty earth-moving equipment like bulldozers and skid steers. The company also manufactures large engines for these vehicles, like the 366E. If the 366E sits up for a while, the owner may have trouble starting it. Unlike small gas engines, which come equipped with a primer bulb to help circulate gasoline to the carburetor, some Caterpillar engines may have to be primed manually if they have sat up for a while.

Pour a small amount of gasoline into the open carburetor while an assistant starts the machine. The extra addition of gasoline to the carburetor should "prime" the engine for starting.
