How to Put a Mower Deck on an Ingersoll Lawn Tractor

Ensure that the engine of your lawn mower is not running. Raise the deck lift lever to its highest position. The lift lever is beside the driver's seat.

Position the deck under the bottom of your Ingersoll lawn mower. Usually you'll do this by sliding the deck from the side. Depending on the surface on which you're working, you might opt to slide the deck on a piece of cardboard or carpet, or on a rolling low platform.

Lower the Ingersoll's lift lever back down to its lowest position.

Lift the deck's front up to the bottom of the mower and insert two of the mower deck's included pins. There is a slot for a pin on each side of the front of the deck. Secure these pins in place with the retainer spring-clips that come with the mower deck.

Slide the deck suspension arms into the brackets on the rear of the deck. Secure each with a retainer spring-clip.

Find the bar extending out of the deck. This is the anti-sway bar. Slide this bar into the Ingersoll mower's chassis bracket and secure it with a retainer spring-clip.

Insert the two side pins into the pin slots on each side of the mower deck. Secure each of these with a retainer spring-clip as you did with the front pins.

Insert the center pin into the center of the Ingersoll lawn tractor's deck. This pin will slide into the pin slot just under the clutch gauge. Secure it with another retainer spring-clip.

Insert the final pin into the slot just beneath the throttle. The throttle is located near the rear of the deck's middle region.
