How to Adjust a Pulsating Sprinkler

An adjustable pulsating sprinkler lets you control the volume and distance of water spraying across your lawn for irrigation. Pulsating sprinklers can throw water a distance of 50 feet or more, or you can adjust them to spray in a concentrated area. In extremely dry conditions, increasing the water flow lets you irrigate to prevent scorching the grass. Always adjust the sprinkler to throw water as low to the ground as possible for effective coverage and to reduce evaporation.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water to the sprinkler at the faucet.

    • 2

Push the spike on the bottom of the sprinkler firmly into the ground so the sprinkler head cannot tip over. This prevents water from spraying directly in front of the sprinkler in one spot, eventually forming a puddle.

    • 3

Twist the vertical screw behind the sprinkler arm clockwise (tighter) to narrow the water stream and reduce the volume flowing through the sprinkler head.

    • 4

Turn the screw counterclockwise (looser) to widen the radius and increase the volume of the water spray.

    • 5

Turn the arc adjuster on the side of the sprinkler behind the water head to change the stream arc. Positioning the water head higher in the air increases the arc of jetting water for faster coverage of your lawn.
