Orbit 9 Station Controller Instructions

The Orbit 9-station controller features a display, a dial and six buttons used to set start times, start days and duration times for the connected irrigation system. The controller is usually connected to one or more water valves that open when it activates. When the water valves open, the underground sprinklers pop up and water the lawn. Once the Orbit is installed, you'll need to know how to program it.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a small, thin object -- such as a paper clip end or pen tip -- into the "Reset" hole on the lower-right side of the Orbit controller face and press in. This will reset all previous settings and prepare the controller for new settings. If this is the first time you're using the controller, pull the black plastic strip out and away from the battery area, located on the top-front area of the controller.

    • 2

Twist the dial on the front of the Orbit to "Time/Date," located on the upper-right side of the dial, to set the current time and date. Press the "-" and "+" buttons to the right of the display to set the time, date, month and year. After each setting is complete, press the "Enter" button, located above the "Reset" button, to advance to the next setting.

    • 3

Twist the Orbit dial to the "Start Times" position, located on the right side of the dial, to set up watering start times for the irrigation system sprinklers. Enter the watering start time with the "-" and "+" buttons and press "Enter."

    • 4

Twist the Orbit controller dial to the "Station Duration" position, located on the right side of the dial, to set a watering duration time. Use the "-" and "+" buttons to raise or lower the watering duration time. This setting determines how long the connected water valve will stay open. After the time is set, press "Enter" to save the settings.

Twist the controller dial to the "Days of Week" position, located on the lower right side of the Orbit dial. The days of the week appear on the display, located at the top of the controller. Decide which days of the week you would like the sprinklers to water. To highlight or select a day, press the "Next" button repeatedly, located on the left side of the controller above the "Rain Delay" button, until the day you desire is highlighted. Press the "Enter" button to select the day. Push the "Next" button again to highlight another day and press the "Enter" button to select it. The system will water on the selected days.
