Instructions

    • 1

Place your weed trimmer on a firm surface.

    • 2

Remove the screws that hold the top cover in place. Use a screwdriver for this.

    • 3

Pull up the spark plug with your hands, and then lift up the cover.

    • 4

Pull out the two ignition wires behind the carburetor that clip onto the cover, and then lift off the cover. Set it aside.

    • 5

Remove the screw found under the cover. Use a screwdriver for this as well.

    • 6

Remove the screw found on the bottom of the weed trimmer that attaches the starter assembly to the gas tank.

    • 7

Remove the remaining four screws found on back of the weed trimmer. The engine will then pull away from the rest of the weed trimmer. You'll see that it's simply a pulley with a rope wrapped around it and that there's a return string that pulls the cord back in.
