Barrington Sprinkler Installation

A finely landscaped yard is not only pleasant to look at but can raise the resale value of your home. To maintain your manicured lawn you are going to need water. One way to ensure your lawn receives the amount of water it needs is with a sprinkler system, such as a Barrington sprinkler system. These sprinklers are installed in the ground and connect to underground pipelines.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the exterior water connection to your home near where you want to install the sprinkler system.

    • 2

Unscrew any hose connected to the water line and screw in the house connection. This is the metal adapter that funnels all the water to the sprinkler system.

    • 3

Dig trenches in the area in your lawn where you intend to install the sprinkler system. Dig the trenches up to the exterior water spigot that is protruding from the outside wall of the home. Make sure the trenches are long enough to accommodate all sprinkler heads so they can throw water to all areas of the lawn. The trenches should be just deep and wide enough to fit the base of the included swivel manifold system. The sprinkler heads attach to the swivel manifold system.

    • 4

Connect a length of piping to the bottom of the house connection and secure the base with a hose clamp. Make sure the dimensions of the piping match the dimensions of the connectors on the house connection and swivel manifold system. This pipe should jut vertically into the hole in the ground.

    • 5

Connect another length of piping horizontally to the vertical pipe using an elbow joint. This piping runs along the hole in the ground.

    • 6

Connect the horizontal piping to the connector end of the swivel manifold system and use a hose clamp to secure the connection.

    • 7

Separate the valves in the swivel manifold system as far from one another as you would like using various lengths of piping.

    • 8

Attach the sprinkler heads to the system and fill the holes. You can now use the valve on the front of the house connector to turn your water on and off.
