Instructions

  1. Focal point

    • 1

Create a focal point in the yard. Lay landscape timbers or edging stones in a large square flower bed in the center of the yard.

    • 2

Place a bird bath in the middle of the flower bed.

    • 3

Plant seasonal flowers in the flower bed and fill in around the flowers with mulch.

    • 4

Fill the bird bath with water and water the flowers.

    Seating

    • 5

Add seating to the yard to make it a place to enjoy. Set up a bistro table and chairs.

    • 6

Slide a patio umbrella into the hole at the center of the bistro table for shade.

    • 7

Add colorful seat cushions to the chairs.

    Borders

    • 8

Create attractive flower bed borders that line the driveway and the house.

    • 9

Plant flowers that come back year after year. Choose flowers based on how much sun each flower bed gets.

    • 10

Fill in around the flowers with mulch to help control weeds and retain moisture.

    • 11

Place large flowering pots at either end of the driveway and fill with plants and flowers that cascade down the sides of the pots.

    • 12

Line the driveway with solar garden lights.

    Porch

    • 13
Don't forget the porch when decorating the yard.

Place a free standing glider or porch swing on the porch.

    • 14

Add colorfull cushions in outdoor fabrics.

    • 15

Hook hanging flower pots to the top of the porch.
