How to Harvest Feverfew

Feverfew has been used as a home remedy for headaches, muscle pains and menstrual complaints for generations. The plant has a leafy green base and small flowers with yellow centers and small white petals. Harvesting feverfew from your herb garden is relatively simple. Use the dried herbs decoratively, to add bitterness to cuisine, or as a home remedy when prescribed by a qualified health care professional.

Instructions

    • 1

Harvest feverfew when it begins blooming. Harvesting too soon can damage the plant and affect the medicinal action of the herb.

    • 2

Spray feverfew with water the night before harvesting, using a sprayer attachment on your garden hose.

    • 3

Harvest feverfew in the morning after spraying. Clip the plant's stems at a 45-degree angle just above the last set of leaves.

    • 4

Tie the cut stems together with twine, then hang them indoors to dry.
