How to Prune Feesey Ribbon Grass

Feesey is a variety of ribbon grass that is also called Phalaris arundinacea and Tricolor Ribbon Grass. The blades emerge in the late spring or summer and have dark green leaves with a white stripe running lengthwise down the center. In mid-summer, they develop tall, central stalks with brown flowers. Just like all other ornamental grasses, Feesey Ribbon Grass requires pruning to clean up the dead blades.

Wait until the late winter or early spring just before the Feesey Ribbon Grass starts to turn green and resume growth.
