How to Use a Toro 1100 Trimmer

The Toro 1100 is one of the larger Toro electric-powered trimmers. Electric trimmers are not as powerful as gas trimmers, but they will serve well in the average suburban home. There are a few tricks to operating them so the average homeowner can use them for a multitude of purposes.

      Plug the extension cord into the exterior socket.

      Plug the cord into the trimmer. On the back of the trimmer there is a lock slip. Bow the extension cord and wrap it around the lock slip.

      Hold the trimmer parallel to the ground, even with the top of the grass. Make slow passes across the top of the grass you are trimming.

      Hold the trimmer on edge. The cord will be completely vertical when you are edging. You can adjust the handle on the trimmer to make it more comfortable by turning it to the right or left. Edge between walkways and the grass by going between the gap that is formed by the walkway and the grass.

      Feed extra line into the trimmer by tapping the bottom of the trimmer on the ground.
