How to Make a Snake Hook

Only experts should handle dangerous snakes, but most species found in residential areas are non-poisonous. A snake bite is painful -- regardless of toxicity -- and a snake's mouth is loaded with harmful bacteria. Great care must taken if you handle any snake. Snake hooks are available for purchase, but the same device can be constructed in a home workshop.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the head of the golf club in a vise. Rest the grip on a table or workbench to prevent the shaft from moving. Hold the shaft firmly about 5 inches from the club's head. Cut the shaft about 3 inches from where it's mounted to the head.

    • 2

Squeeze a liberal amount of adhesive on the end of the shaft where you made the cut; use adhesive made for metal. Slide the shaft into the end of the handle of the paint roller. Re-cut or pinch the shaft -- using a pair of pliers -- if it does not fit snugly into the paint-roller's handle. Reapply adhesive. Wrap duct tape around the connection once the shaft fits snugly.

Allow the adhesive to dry. Test the firmness of the connection to be sure the snake hook does not come apart.
