How to Adjust Irritrol Lawn Sprinkler Valves

Irritrol sprinkler systems allow you to water your lawn throughout the summer with little work. Once the watering schedule is set, very few adjustments need to be made to keep the system working well. The valves on the Irritrol sprinkler system control the amount of water released from the sprinklers. Adjust the valves for the proper coverage of your lawn areas.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the valve by turning the small knob at the top of the flow control handle counterclockwise. The flow control handle sits on top of the Irritrol valve, controlling the amount of water that flows into the sprinkler system's pipes. Turn the handle under the solenoid to the "On" position. The solenoid is located next to the flow control handle, providing power to the valve.

    • 2

Turn the flow control handle clockwise to decrease the amount of water spraying from the sprinklers. Turn the handle clockwise until the amount of water sprayed from the sprinklers is adequate for your lawn.

    • 3

Turn the flow control handle half a turn counterclockwise to set the amount of water sprayed from the sprinklers. The sprinklers will always spray this amount of water. The Irritrol valve sets this amount of water in place when you turn the flow control handle to this setting.
