Move the Z Force mower onto a flat, concrete work area. Engage the foot brake and switch on the parking brake. Switch the engine off and take the key out. Pull off the connecting wires from all the spark plugs. Push the transport lever forward to lower the deck into cutting position.
Measure the distance from the concrete to the bottom edge of the mowing blade at the front and back of the mowing the deck using a ruler (four measurements all together). Adjust the mower deck if the front edge isn't 1/8 to 1/4 inch lower than the back edge.
Unscrew the inner rear nuts on the front deck links until they're finger tight. Turn the outer rear nuts clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the deck up or down. Adjust the outer rear nuts on both sides of the mower until the preferred height is achieved. Tighten the bolts once the height is set.
Adjust the side-to-side level of the deck after the front deck links are set. Unscrew the top inner left nut on the deck lift link until it's finger tight. Turn the lower inner left nut clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the sides up or down as needed. Re-tighten screws once the height is achieved.
Pull up on the transport lever to raise the mower deck. Push the transport lever forward to put the deck back into cutting position. Measure all four sides again to ensure the proper height is achieved. Make any adjustments, as necessary, following the same deck adjustment steps.
