Unplug the chain saw's electrical plug from the extension cord. Unscrew the two bar nuts holding the clutch cover in place. Slide the bar nuts, clutch cover, bar and chain off the chain saw.
Separate the bar and chain. Run the tip of the knife along the two guide slots on both sides of the bar, scraping out any compacted oil, sawdust and other material that could be blocking the automatic oiler. Clean out the bar oiler holes at the base of the bar with the knife.
Wipe off the entire length of the bar and check it for dents, warping or any damage that could prevent oil from reaching the chain. Blow out the guide slots and the oiler holes with the compressed air.
Unscrew the oiler plate, just beside the two bar posts. Take the oiler plate off and clean the area around the oiler nozzle. Blow compressed air into the oiler nozzle.
Unscrew the bar oil cap on the tank. Drain any oil into the oil container. Clean out the tank with the brush and rag. Inspect the inside of the tank for any damage or debris that could clog the oiling system.
Locate the automatic oiler control knob on the chain saw. Turn the knob towards the "+" to increase output from the automatic oiler. Refill the tank with bar oil and check for oil again. If no oil appears, contact a professional to service the oil pump.
