Instructions

    • 1

Move the ignition switch into the "Stop" position. Pull back on the chain brake handle to disengage the chain brake. Loosen the two bar nuts on the side of the chainsaw with the combination bar tool's wrench side.

    • 2

Remove the bar nuts, chain cover, chain and bar from the engine. Brush off the guide bar, the area around the clutch, underneath the chain cover and any other accessible area. Wipe these parts clean with a rag and visually inspect them for any damage.

    • 3

Unscrew the cylinder cover on top of the chainsaw. Lift the cover off and unscrew the air filter assembly. Take the air filter off its mount on the engine. Brush off the cover and the area around the air filter mount and carburetor, wiping them clean with the rag.

    • 4

Wash the air filter in soapy water and replace it if it can't be cleaned. Allow the air filter to dry thoroughly before reusing it. Brush off the fins around the cylinder. Check the top area around the cylinder, carburetor and air filter area for any damage.

    • 5

Unhook the spark plug boot from the tip of the spark plug. Loosen and remove the spark plug with the wrench side of the combination bar tool. Replace the spark plug if the tip looks black, bent or damaged.

    • 6

Unscrew the fuel tank cap and drain all the fuel from the tank into the fuel container. Reach into the tank with the metal hook. Pull the fuel filter and fuel line into the tank's opening.

    • 7

Pull off the fuel filter with your fingers. Press the new fuel filter's nozzle into the end of the fuel line. Reassemble all other parts in reverse.
