Each ProGator comes standard with two front passenger bucket seats equipped with seat belt safety restraints and an integrated overhead rollover protection bar. Adjustable set controls and arm rests come optional. The vehicles are used to traverse large developments quickly on any subsurface and have a maximum speed of 19.1 miles per hour. The large tires are designed to be gentle on turf but function just as well on concrete, asphalt and soil. The chassis sits high off the ground, making traversing shallow water easy for the vehicle. However versatile, the ProGator is not classed as an all-terrain vehicle.
The body frame of the ProGator is manufactured from welded 7-gauge steel and has a payload carrying capacity of two tons, which classes it as heavier duty than the basic Gator models. The towing capacity of the ProGator models using the rear hitch is 1,500 lbs. The cargo bed measures 60 inches long by 50.5 inches wide and 10 inches deep, leaving plenty of room for hauling plant materials, tools, small machinery, building materials or something as simple as boxes.
The flat bed and hitch on the back of the ProGator allow for a wide number of Deere attachments to be used with the vehicle. It can accommodate large plastic tanks up to a 300-gallon capacity for water, fertilizer or insecticides that simply slide into the bed of the ProGator. With adjustable sprayer arm booms attached to the hitch, you can care for wide swathes of turf in a single pass. Bed liners can be used for hauling small loose materials such as sand, soil or aggregate, and aerators, rakes and other tow attachments can be connected at the rear hitch.
The ProGator vehicles come in both gasoline and diesel engines with large capacity fuel tanks upwards of 8 gallons. Like a car, the ProGator has a fully regulated electrical system and dash display. All ProGator vehicles come standard as a two-wheel drive, but an optional four-wheel drive feature that engages manually is available as a factory-installed upgrade. Hydraulic steering, brake and suspension systems plus an optional hydraulic lift on the truck bed make dumping of payloads easy and less labor intensive.
