How to Set Up a Three-Point John Deere 2520

The John Deere 2520 is a model of compact utility tractor in the 2000 Series of residential products that features 4-wheel drive. This series comes fitted with a universal three-point hitch designed to connect quickly and easily with more than 50 attachments. The tractors are also equipped with a hydraulic lift system that extends and connects via the hitch to attachments with pneumatic capability. The 2520 three-point hitch also features the trademarked iMatch AutoHitch -- allowing the tractor operator to remain seated when connecting to an attachment.

Instructions

    • 1

Engage the tractor engine, and slightly raise the hydraulic hitch by pressing the control lever forward.

    • 2

Back up the tractor toward the attachment of choice, aligning its three-point hitch with the hitch connector on the attachment.

    • 3

Engage the hydraulic lift lever to raise the hitch -- just high enough to catch the connector on the attachment.

    • 4

Secure the two latches, found on each side of the hitch connection, to lock the attachment to the tractor.

    • 5

Connect any pneumatics, if applicable, by rotating the handle on the attachment end of the hitch connection so the pneumatic cable connectors line up. Face forward again, toward the tractor controls, and pull the "AutoHitch" lever to power the connection.
