Instructions

    • 1

Attach the field cultivator to the back of your tractor according to the instructions of your particular Sunflower model's instructions. Tie a chain securely from the tractor to the field cultivator if instructed by your manual .

    • 2

Add a Sunflower attachment to the back of your cultivator if necessary. Some available attachments include a spike drag for areas with low or heavy residue, a finishing attachment for a digging action that is more aggressive or a spike, and reel attachment for rough terrain. Follow the instructions that accompany your attachment.

    • 3

Check your field for any obstructions, holes or stumps that could damage your tractor or cultivator. Remove any debris before you run your cultivator.

    • 4

Set your tractor's three point hydraulic lift system to balance the cultivator's weight and draft to the tractor for best results.

    • 5

Place your foot lightly on the gas pedal of the tractor and apply pressure. As your tractor moves, the field cultivator will follow behind, leaving clean and straight lines behind the tractor.

    • 6

Maintain a steady speed as you tend your fields. Do not exceed 20 miles per hour. Slow down when you ride over rough or bumpy terrain.

    • 7

Make wide turns when turning the tractor with the attached cultivator to provide for adequate clearance. Ensure that the cultivator is raised from the ground before you turn and then lower back into the ground after completing the turn.

    • 8

Continue driving your tractor with the attached cultivator through your fields. Stay in straight lines until you complete the desired area.

    • 9

Place the hydraulic controls from the tractor in neutral before you dismount from the tractor.
