How to Install a Deck Wash Kit on a Crafstman Riding Lawn Mower

Drive the Craftsman mower to a level surface. Put the mower into park and turn off the engine. Wait until the blades stop moving to hook up the deck wash kit.

Set the deck wash kit onto the blade port, on top of the mower deck. Use the drill with the drill bit that came with the deck wash kit to drill a port wash hole on the deck if you have an older Craftsman riding lawn mower, which doesn’t already have a port wash hole.

Mount the washout port to the deck using the screwdriver and the screw that comes with the deck wash kit. Screw the hose adapter into the port until it locks into place.

Screw the proper end of the garden hose into the hose adaptor on the washout port. Turn the mower on and engage the cutting blades. Turn the garden house faucet on and wash out the deck.

Turn the cutting blades and mower off when the deck is cleaned. Remove the deck wash kit and washout port after the blades have stopped. Clean the deck as often as necessary.
