Shut off power to your RV's air conditioner system by switching the breaker that controls power to ceiling-mounted accessories to the off position.
Unscrew the screws holding your RV's roof hatch frame in place from inside your RV. Remove the hatch frame as it falls away from the ceiling. Cut away any adhesive residue or caulking with a utility knife to free the frame.
Climb atop your RV's roof using the attached ladder. Remove any screws holding the hatch assembly in place from above. Remove the hatch lid and adjustment assembly from above, cutting away any adhesive or caulking if necessary.
Remove the wiring access panel on the bottom of your Coleman air conditioner by removing the screws that hold it in place.
Apply a bead of acrylic caulk all the way around the mounting place on the bottom of the Coleman air conditioner. Place the air conditioner over the opening in your RV's roof, with the sharply angled end pointing toward the front of the vehicle.
Adjust the air conditioner's position from inside the RV until the Coleman air conditioner's vents align with the ceiling opening.
Attach a 115-volt AC wiring harness already installed in your RV's ceiling to the 9-pin connector on the air conditioner's control panel, pressing it into place firmly.
Install new wiring to connect the Coleman air conditioner to your RV's electric box if there isn't an existing accessory harness in the ceiling near the site of the hatch. Consult the RV's owner's manual and the Coleman air conditioner installation guide to determine the correct wiring process.
Insert the duct divider and air seal plates in the RV ceiling, if your Coleman air conditioner is a model that includes them. Snap each piece into place in the order outlined in the Coleman air conditioner owner's manual.
Apply a bead of acrylic caulk around the perimeter of the top of the mounting frame.
Press the frame into place around the ceiling opening from inside the RV. Insert one of the mounting bolts upward through the frame and the holes in the ceiling left behind by the hatch's mounting frame.
Drive the mounting bolt into the Coleman air conditioner above using the appropriately sized socket and a driver. Repeat the process for the three remaining mounting bolts.
Climb atop your RV and check that the Coleman air conditioner is firmly in place by pulling upward gently near each corner.
Screw the filter and ceiling grill onto the mounting frame from inside your RV. Switch the circuit breaker to the on position to test the unit.
