Gather your tools. You will need wood pieces, nails and a hammer. The wood pieces need to be in plank form. They should be no less than 2 feet long. Keep in mind that if they are too long you will have to cut them down.
Assemble the base. The base of your corn feeder is going to consist of 2 pieces of wood. The first piece of wood will be the longest piece that you use. It should be approximately 2 to 2 ½ feet long. This piece of wood will serve as the backing for your feeder and will be vertical. The second piece of wood will be 1 to 1 ½ feet long. This piece of wood will be placed horizontally in the bottom third of the feeder’s base. The second piece of wood shouldn’t be longer than the first piece of wood.
Add in the corn feeder. The corn feeder is a wooden block that is placed on the end of the second piece of wood. To attach the corn feeder block, nail it to the second piece of wood. Put the nail in it so that the nail is facing up. The nail will serve as your corn holder and you will mount your corn on the cob on top of it.
Place the cob of corn on top of the nail. If the corn appears to not be sturdy, you may need to use a larger nail. Remove the nail and repeat the process with a larger nail. If the corn is sturdy, proceed to Step 5.
Find a location. If you are using the corn feeder for smaller animals such as squirrels or birds, place the corn feeder against a low level flat surface. You will need to nail the feeder to the surface in order to secure it. Now that your corn feeder is done, enjoy watching the animals nibble!
