Inexpensive Home Garden Decor

Accessories add a personal touch to flower or vegetable gardens, and the accessories don't have to cost a lot of money. Look through your garden shed to see if you already have something you can repurpose as garden art.
  1. Scarecrows

    • Add a functional and decorative scarecrow to your garden. It will keep birds from your plants, and add whimsy and fun to the space. Change its clothes to coincide with the season.

    Statues

    • Stone figures are classic garden decorations. If you don't already have one tucked away, find one at a flea market or home improvement store. Gnomes, animals, and angels are popular garden statues, but the possibilities are endless.

    Wheelbarrow or Child's Wagon

    • Repurpose an old wheelbarrow or child's wagon as a whimsical addition to your garden. Plant flowers inside it. You may want to paint the wheelbarrow or wagon, but a worn appearance will add to its charm.

    Spilled Pot

    • Place a terra-cotta pot on its side in the garden. Plant flowers at the opening to make it look like they are spilling from the pot. Head to your local dollar store for cheap pots and flower seeds.

    Birdhouse or Bird Feeder

    • Place a birdhouse or feeder on a post to add height to your garden. Keep fresh seeds in the feeder to attract birds to the area.
